Frequently Asked Questions
Where do our animals come from?
Most of the dogs and cats that are in need of foster care come to us from high kill shelters in New Mexico, Texas,
and Kansas. These animals are typically tagged by rescues hours before being euthanized. We also take in owner
surrender dogs and adopted dogs being returned for various reasons. At SKAR, we make a lifetime commitment to
every animal we rescue. This means that if, for any reason, an adopter can no longer keep a pet he or she adopted
from us, we require that the pet comes back to us. If the pet ends up at a shelter, we will pick the animal up and
take the animal back. To avoid having more animals put into shelters SKAR will also take in dogs being
surrendered by their owners. They are treated as any other rescue that comes to us.
Where are you located?
We are a rescue based out of South Denver, CO. All of our animals are in foster homes. We do not have a central location.
